Why I have this site...
So there I was, playing Hordes of the Underdark, on the Isle of the Maker when I go to pull out the Djinni bottle. And its not there. I look through all of my bags. Nope, no Djinni bottle. Ok, time for a full search. I look through Valen and Nathyrra's inventory and still no luck. Same goes for the pool in the Realm of the Reaper. And so began my search to learn how to spawn items.
.I finally found instructions on how to spawn items using the cheat console, along with instructions to finding out the tags for the items with the toolset. Then I searched for lists of item codes (since I really didn't want to go through all the work with the toolset, I was hoping for someone to have a simple list). And I found nothing. So I decided to compile a list for myself. Then I thought, 'lets compare the items and their stats in a table', followed by 'well, let's make it pretty while I'm at it', and finally, 'perhaps other people might like to use this…' and so began this site.

How To Spawn Item:

After typing "DebugMode 1" and hitting enter, type "dm_spawnitem [item tag]" replaceing [item tag] with the tag name of your desired object (type it exactly as it is written, I believe it is case sensitive). Then hit enter and the item will appear where ever your pointer was on the screen. Before doing this make sure the mouse is somewhere your character can go to, the first time I did this I happened to be in a cage, and my mouse happened to be on a stalagmite so when my object appeared, it took me a while to realize it was perched on the very tip of the stalagmite, with no way to get it down! Now pick up your hard won treasure and turn off the DebugMode.

How To Use the Cheat Console.

So first you need to open up the cheat console by hitting the " ` " button (otherwise known as the " ~ " button). A yellow ">" should appear in the upper left corner of your screen. Now type "DebugMode 1" and hit enter. Some weird yellow light may show up which is normal. Then type in the cheats you want. When you are finished type "DebugMode 0" to get rid of all the weird yellow.

Item Tags

I'll be posting the item tags as I get them web ready. Since I play a sorceress, codes for items that are useful to magic users will be posted first. I may not ever get to things such as heavy armor, unless someone requests it. Currently I have posted everything that is classified as Armor: Clothing which includes the original NWN clothes and magic user/monk robes. If you only have the original Neverwinter Nights campaign, and no expansions, make sure the tag starts with NW_ since I'm guessing X1_ and X2_ are for expansion 1 and 2. I am also posting tags some of my favorite items at the bottom of this page.
